Nutritional therapy Health MOT Package

Nutritional Therapy Health MOT in Heanor

with Jan Cooper, BANT Registered Nutritional Therapist at Acorn Natural Health Centre

A Personalised Nutritional Health Check

This Nutritional Therapy Health MOT is a focused mini programme designed for people who want reassurance about their current diet and health habits, or who are curious about improving their wellbeing without committing to a longer programme.

With so much conflicting nutrition advice available, it can be difficult to know what actually works for your body. Working with a qualified nutritional therapist, even over a short period, can give clarity, direction and practical changes that make a noticeable difference to how you feel.

This is also suitable if you already look after your health but want expert insight into where small adjustments could improve energy, digestion, or overall wellbeing.

What’s Included

• review of your current diet and lifestyle
• one hour initial consultation focused on key improvements
• personalised nutrition and lifestyle action plan
• supplement guidance where appropriate
• 30 minute follow-up appointment
• access to a client portal via downloadable app
• message support via the app between sessions
• 25% discount on supplements ordered through The Natural Dispensary

Optional Functional Testing

Some clients choose to add simple at-home dry blood spot tests for additional insight.

Vitamin D Test (£35)

Vitamin D supports:
• immune function
• bone health
• hormone balance
• brain health

Levels can often be low in the UK due to limited sun exposure, and may benefit from monitoring alongside dietary support.

Omega 3 & 6 Ratio Test (£50)

This test assesses:
• omega 3:6 balance
• DHA levels (important for brain function and development)
• inflammation markers related to diet

Omega 3 is important for heart health, mental wellbeing, weight regulation and inflammation balance.

How It Works

You will begin by completing:
• a 7-day food diary
• a detailed health and lifestyle questionnaire

This gives a full picture of your current habits, symptoms and nutritional patterns.

You will also receive access to the client app so you can view your action plan and stay in touch between sessions.

Your Sessions

Your initial consultation and follow-up session are usually spaced around 3 to 4 weeks apart.

During this time, your personalised nutrition plan is developed based on your goals, preferences, and lifestyle.

The follow-up session is used to review progress, refine recommendations, and support ongoing improvements.

Ongoing Support

Support between sessions helps keep you on track and allows adjustments based on how your body responds.

If functional testing is selected, this is completed prior to your first consultation so results are available for discussion.

Please allow approximately 3 weeks for test processing.

This Health MOT is suitable if you:

Jan Cooper

Nutritional Therapist

Hi, I’m Jan and I’m a Nutritional Therapist.

My role is to work with you to identify the root causes of your health concerns and symptoms, and to understand how imbalances or deficiencies may be contributing to how you are feeling.  I do this by taking a detailed health history and by understanding you as a whole person.  I will then create a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan to help you take control of your own health.

I qualified as a Nutritional Therapist with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Birmingham, I am a member of The British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, and a member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council.

I first became interested in nutrition and how nutrients can have a positive impact on health when I faced a cancer diagnosis many years ago and used diet and lifestyle alongside conventional medicine as a means to recover my health. So when I was made redundant from a career in the criminal justice system, I used the opportunity to train as a nutritional therapist and help others find solutions to their health concerns too.

What I like most about Nutritional Therapy is that I can help people make significant improvements to their health and wellbeing which is personalised to their needs and can last a lifetime.
