Nutritional Therapy looks at the underlying causes of disease and ill-health. Using a client centred approach to support the whole person, spending time listening and understanding clients health concerns in order to find solutions using diet, lifestyle and supplements,
Nutritional Therapy is a science-based approach to tackling imbalances, deficiencies, and insufficiencies within the body. It’s a very individualised way of approaching diet and lifestyle. Everyone’s different, but everyone can use nutritional therapy to support their health and vitality.
Nutritional Therapy can help anyone. Our diet and lifestyle have a huge impact on health. We can often keep going on a poor diet for a while without any serious consequences or without noticing any issues, as the body will compensate, however long term it’s a different story. The human body needs a range of nutrients for all the body systems to function well. When things start to go wrong it can be easy to reach for a quick fix to sort out symptoms rather than looking deeper to find the root cause.
If you’re experiencing heath concerns and suspect your diet might not be as good as it could be, I can help you to discover the best way for you to achieve lasting improvements to your health.

Initially you would book in for a free 30 minute chat where we can talk about what you are experiencing and how nutritional therapy might be able to help. This is also an opportunity for you to meet me or speak over the phone and decide if you’d like to work with me and if nutritional therapy is for you. There’s no obligation to book further appointments.
If you do decide you’d like my support to make lasting change to your diet and lifestyle, that’s personal to you, this is what that journey would look like:
We would then meet in person at Acorn or online (your choice) for an in depth initial assessment, where I will provide you with a nutritional plan to start you off.
After that we’d meet on a weekly basis for the duration of your package, where we will discuss progress and make tweaks and changes depending on your feedback.
For some people it may be necessary to order a functional test to understand what is going on in your body at a deeper level. These have an additional cost and are discretionary, however using functional testing can mean we get to the root of the problem much quicker, so can be well worth it.
What if I’m not quite ready for this?
If you’re curious but not sure you want to embark on a complete overhaul, why not book in for a diet diary review? This is a great way to discover some healthy eating habits that will be good for general overall health.
This short term package is ideal for people who already have a reasonably healthy diet and lifestyle but want to make some improvements to their health, boost energy levels or ditch some bad habits.
If you need support to achieve a short term health goal or maybe in preparation for a holiday, wedding, or special event, this package is for you.
Hi, I’m Jan and I’m a Nutritional Therapist.
My role is to work with you to identify the root causes of your health concerns and symptoms, and to understand how imbalances or deficiencies may be contributing to how you are feeling. I do this by taking a detailed health history and by understanding you as a whole person. I will then create a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan to help you take control of your own health.
I qualified as a Nutritional Therapist with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Birmingham, I am a member of The British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, and a member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council.
I first became interested in nutrition and how nutrients can have a positive impact on health when I faced a cancer diagnosis many years ago and used diet and lifestyle alongside conventional medicine as a means to recover my health. So when I was made redundant from a career in the criminal justice system, I used the opportunity to train as a nutritional therapist and help others find solutions to their health concerns too.
What I like most about Nutritional Therapy is that I can help people make significant improvements to their health and wellbeing which is personalised to their needs and can last a lifetime.
We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a SILVER award by Investors in the Environment. A big thank you to all our wonderful staff and clients for helping us to raise the bar and look after our environment even better.
