Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy uses diet, supplements and lifestyle to address underlying imbalances and root causes of health concerns. Personalised nutrition is about working out what your body needs to thrive and putting a plan in place to achieve optimum health. Some people come to a nutritional therapist when they feel their health is slightly out of balance and may feel they need some help getting back on track, and for some it can be out of desperation when they are looking for solutions to complex health issues and have spend years feeling frustrated at not being able to find the answers. Nutritional therapy can also be used alongside conventional medicine with your nutritional therapist working in conjunction with your GP or other health professional, it can also be used very successfully alongside other complementary therapies.

Jan Cooper

Nutritional Therapist

Hi, I’m Jan and I’m a Nutritional Therapist.

My role is to work with you to identify the root causes of your health concerns and symptoms, and to understand how imbalances or deficiencies may be contributing to how you are feeling.  I do this by taking a detailed health history and by understanding you as a whole person.  I will then create a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan to help you take control of your own health.

I qualified as a Nutritional Therapist with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Birmingham, I am a member of The British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, and a member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council.

I first became interested in nutrition and how nutrients can have a positive impact on health when I faced a cancer diagnosis many years ago and used diet and lifestyle alongside conventional medicine as a means to recover my health. So when I was made redundant from a career in the criminal justice system, I used the opportunity to train as a nutritional therapist and help others find solutions to their health concerns too.

What I like most about Nutritional Therapy is that I can help people make significant improvements to their health and wellbeing which is personalised to their needs and can last a lifetime.
